Aja Ekadashi 2010

2010 date is on 4-September (Bhadrapada) in this year. Aja Ekadasi, also known as Ananda Ekadasi or Ananda Ekadashi, is observed in Bhadrapada or Bhadrapad mahina.

According to the South Indian Panhcangs, it falls in Shravan Krishna Paksha. In Souther parts of India, AjaEkadashi is also referred as Shravan Vadi Ekadasi. On this day, devotees observe fasting, AjaEkadashi is very auspicious and favorite day to Lord Vishnu and his consort Goddess Lakshmi. The importance of this Aja Akadashi was mentioned by Bhagwan Krisna to Yudhisthira and is found in the Brahmavaivarta Purana. It is believed that a person who observes this Ekadashi will be relieved from reactions of his/her sinful activities.
