| Amitabh Bachchan no more the brand ambassador from IIFA Posted: 19 Jan 2011 07:33 AM PST Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan on Monday announced that he has quit from being the brand ambassador International Indian Film Academy awards. The actor said on Twitter, "IIFA says my services are not required…" However when questioned about the issue, the spokes person Sabbas Joseph said, "Due to unexplainable reasons, after announcing the event as 'brand ambassador', Mr Bachchan couldn't participate last year. Following this, we aborted the concept of a 'brand ambassador'," Sources predict that the issue must have risen as every year the awards were mostly dominated by the Bachchan family. And due to the reason, stars like Shahrukh and Salman Khan would miss the event. Many have an opinion that this shouldn't have happened. Filmmaker Jagmohan Mundra said that Amitabh used to give volume to the IIFA. Now that everything is over between the Bachchans and the IFFA there are rumours that Salman Khan or Anil Kapoor will be the next face of the IIFA. |
