As scheduled earlier, the upper star Amitabh Bachchan today on February 11, 2012 successfully underwent an abdominal surgery at a hospital in Mumbai . Son Abhishek Tweeted that the surgery went on well and is admitted at the Seven Hills Hospital.

Abhishek wrote, “Thank you all for your wishes and prayers. The surgery went off well and dad is now in the room resting,”. Earleir the doctors had updated about the condition of the 69 year old actor to the media, which left thousands of fans worried about his health.

One of the doctors revealed that the actor had come to the hospital with a pain in his abdomen and after examinations and some tests it was found that the condition needed surgical interventions. Event the actor agreed that the surgery would relieve the actor of the ailment.

The doctors confirmed that the mega star was stable but revealed no further details on his condition. The actor in the recent days has been updating his fans about his health through his blog.

Bollywood film maker OP Dutta on February 9, 2012 passed away at Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai. The film maker was suffering from pneumonia and was 90 year old.

The son of the film maker JP Dutta while talking to the reporters said that he has lost his voice and his soul. The film maker's son was inconsolable and was deeply hurt over the death of his father.

JP Dutta expressed that there will be no one to pen down his thoughts and no one to fill the void in his heart. Actor Abhishek Bachchan was the first to reach the residence of Dutta to pay his condolences.

Actor Suniel Shetty, who is also a close family friend of the Duttas said that he was like his father and that he always called him dad. Shetty and Abhishek were the ones who worked with the film maker while shooting for the movie 'Border'.
