How do I recover virus infected hidden files from Pen Drive?

Posted: 01 Mar 2012 12:42 AM PST

USB Flash Drive (Pen Drive) is small, portable, handy, easy to carry around, you can even keep in your purse (wallet). As it is easy to carry arround, it is easy to be infected with a virus as well. If your important files in your Pen Drive are corrupted or infected with viruses, what are you going to do? Have you ever thougth about there is a solution for this problem?

Most people buy expensive Laptop, Desktop Computer but they do not want to spend money on AntiVirus Software. Instead of spending money on Antivirus software, they will use/install free antivirus like Avast, Free Antivirus Avast can block only viruses and spyware. Free Antivirus Avast can not stop annoying SPAM, can not block phishing scams, can not secure personal data, can not block hacker attacks, etc.

I highly recommend that you’d better purchase Norton Internet Security or Avast Internet Security or McAfee Internet Security or McAfee Total Protection for your Desktop computer or Laptop.

Recovering hidden files caused by virus infection is easy for Tech savvy, but who do not have technical knowledge it is quite difficult.

If virus infects your files in Pen Drive, you can not view or use your file/data, you might think that your file/data is lost, actually it is not lost, file/data in your Pen Drive is still there as it is but it is with the hidden form.

To solve this issue, follow the instructions given below:

1. Connect your Pen Drive to your System.

2. Click on Start Menu/Button.

3. Go to Run or Press Windows Key+R and type cmd and then press ENTER or click OK button.

4. Usually when we connect Pen Drive to Computer/Laptop, it is in (I:) drive, it can be in some other drive also. Make sure in which drive your Pen Drive is. If it is in (I:) drive, type i: and press Enter.

5. Now you need to type attrib -s -h /s /d *.* and then press Enter.

Note: After typing attrib, each letter should be followed by a space.

6. Check your Pen Drive now, all your files are restored to its original and you will be able to view all your files. All files are now usable, clickable and openable.
